FIRST KANNADA E-POEM COLLECTION: Report in Deccan herald

E-Poems released

'Soorya Sikarige Munna', said to be the first Collection of e-poems in Kannada was released by well known columnist and poet Aravinda Chokkadi, at Moodbidre on Sunday.Journalist Shekara Ajekar is the author of the book.

Mr. Chokkadi, who released the book,said that the poems expressed very well what prose could not.

Presiding over the programme, Mr.Subhashachandra Padival stressed the need to highlights these works,since it is new concept.The poems, dedicated to those who have written Kannada software.

• Mahalakshmi Shenoy gets SURMANI' award
  Mahalakshmi Shenoy Karkala, a promising young Hindustani Classical Vocalist, disciple of Grammy Award winner Pandith Vishwamohan Bhatt of Jaipur and Pandith Ramarao Nayak of Goa performed successfully at the " Kal Ke Kalakar" Music Sammelan organized by Sur Singar Samsad of Mumbai in the last week of May and obtained the prestigious ' SURMANI" national award. She is the first artist from Udupi Distrct to get this coveted Award. Mahalakshmi had won National Award in Classical Music in the inter University National Youth Festival held in Chennai in last year.
